(38 years with the Pembroke Police)
Passed away at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Sunday, January 29, 2012 in his 83rd year.

 Versil Young of Pembroke, beloved husband of Leona Young (nee Koops).  Dear father of John Young (Jane), Pembroke; Melanie Eichstaedt (Ian), Petawawa; and Paul Young (Kesha), Ottawa.  Grandfather of Caleb, Emma, Liam & Aidan; Lucas; and James & Grace.  Brother of Idena Sheehan (Al), Vancouver BC.  Son of the late John & Georgina Young (nee Stone).  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Versil was an avid supporter of children's sports in his community.

Peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Monday, January 30, 2012 in his 61st year.

 Elton "Ollie" Gould, of 580 Hamilton St., Pembroke, son of the late John and Annie Gould (nee Schneider).  Brother of the late Elva Oelke (Stanley), Petawawa.  Uncle to Phil Krueger (Karen), Petawawa and Kim Roggie (Pat Visutski), Eganville.  Great-uncle to Mandy & Krista Krueger and Candice (Kirk Zomers) & Matthew Roggie.  Great-great-uncle to Kaydence & Carter.  Survived by Aunt Jean Snyder and many cousins.

Passed away at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Sunday, January 29, 2012 in his 90th year.

Allan Pilatzke of Pembroke, beloved husband of Garda Pilatzke (nee Biederman).  Dear father of Dornetta Mau, and grandfather of Rhonda & Russell.  Brother of Beatrice Grahl (Edgar), Pembroke; Gerda Marquardt (late Leslie), Eganville; Linda Gauthier (late George), Deep River; and Florence Holtz (late Lester), Pembroke.  Predeceased by brothers Norman (late Marjorie) and Edgar (late Ethel).  Son of the late Thomas and Louise Pilatzke (nee Gutzeit).  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

 Elaine Seigel (nee Scheer), dearly loved wife of Steve and loving mom of Laurie.  Predeceased by her dear son Christopher.  Loving daughter of Mae Saar and dear sister of Gerry Scheer (Suzanne).  Lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

BRESKE REES, Emma Louise
Passed away at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the age of 89 years.

 Emma Breske Rees (nee Handke) of Pembroke, beloved wife of the late Leslie Rees, and by first marriage the late Wilfred Breske.  Dear mother of Ken Breske (Germaine), Orillia; Elizabeth Lovely (Keith), Sudbury; Debbie Breske (George Verge), Sudbury; and Diana Breske, Pembroke.  Grandmother of Kim, Shelley & Carrie Breske; Melissa Kennedy (Dave); and Lisa Peterson (Barrie); as well as many great-grandchildren.  Predeceased by 1 brother and 8 sisters; as well as parents Ernest and Louisa Handke (nee Hilderbrandt).  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

 Jack Watterson of Pembroke, husband of the late Selma Watterson (nee Mitton).  Loving father of William Watterson (Angela Dament), Chapeau QC; Robert Watterson (Sandra), Brampton; and Darlene Jalbert (Bill Gagnon), Cornwall.  Predeceased by sons Bud Watterson & Shane McDuff (Sharon), Cornwall.  Grandpa to 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  Brother of Edna, Margaret & Marion.

 Raymond Lapointe of Pembroke, formerly of Ottawa, devoted husband of Suzanne Lapointe (nee Gravel).  Cherished father of Catherine McKeough (husband Mike), Carlsbad Springs;  Jim Lapointe (wife Anna), Kanata; Norma Lapointe, Gloucester; Judy Davidson (husband Greg), Beachburg; Kathy “Charlie” Crawford (husband Steve), London.  Predeceased by son Earl Mahoney and granddaughter Candice Pflug.  Grampa Ray/Popup to Michael, Matthew, Nathan, Mark and Stefanie, Shane, Danny, Trevor, Andrew, Jeff, Freddy, Max, Andrew, Crystal, Jessica, Kris, Tania, Amber & Rachel and great-grandpa to Annika, Brooke, Carter, Maxwell & Teegan.

 Emgard Maahs (nee Schroeder) of Pembroke, beloved wife of the late Ted Maahs.  Dear mother of Randy Maahs (Julia), Ottawa; and Brenda Roach (Dennis), Pembroke.  Granny to Jeffrey (Zoe), Lindsay (Maurice) & Stephen (Katie) Maahs; and Darren (Kim) & Jonathan (Tammy) Roach.  Great-Granny to Isaiah Maahs; Kayla & Amy Roach; and Skylar, Taden & Delsin Solly.  Daughter of the late Frank and Dorothea Schroeder (nee Marquardt).  Sister of Margaret Zadow (late Raymond), Eganville.  Predeceased by brothers Ernest, Gustave, Walter, Arthur, Leonard, Rudolph & Wilfred Schroeder; and sisters Gertrude Risto, Phyllis Zadow & Edna Schultz.  Survived by sisters-in-law Beatrice, Annetta & Edna Schroeder; and brother-in-law Desmond Zadow (Ruth).  Survived by many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn Agnes Thibeault (nee Lamirante) of Deep River (Born in The Town of Mattawa) dearly beloved wife of the deceased Irving Thibeault. Dear mother of William (Lorraine), Dale (Nancy), Jim (Tami), John (Lee-Ann), Donna Szocik (Michael), Debbie Hall (Dave) and Bob (Nancy). Predeceased by her infant son James, infant daughter Linda and 2 brothers and 1 sister. Loving grandmother to 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many.  

A Memorial Mass was held in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Deep River on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.

WHITMORE, Grace Elizabeth
Passed away at Miramichi Lodge, Pembroke on Saturday, January 7, 2011 in her 94th year.

 

 Grace Whitmore of Pembroke, and former teacher at Edgewood Public School, Scarborough, daughter of the late Willard and Elizabeth Whitmore (nee Coffey).  Predeceased by brother George Whitmore and sister Shirley Taylor.  Survived by her nieces and nephews.  Many thanks to Miramichi Lodge and Carefor.
